The most chilling part of this video is just how complacent the boy is. I’m sure he is in shock, but there is no screaming, no shaking, no obvious trauma despite being completely drenched in blood. There is no fear in his eyes. He just tries to wipe the blood out of his eyes so he can see what is going on around him.
This kid should be at home watching cartoons. He should be running around playing, laughing, being a kid. But instead he is left bloodied and alone in a deadly riot surrounded by rubble and dead bodies.
Think about that the next time you’re stuck in traffic.
I heard Coop on the phone on CNN just after this happened. He was really shaken up. Between Coop and Gupta, CNN wins the Badass Reporter award, hands down.
Holy god. That video floored me.
I hadn’t seen this yet, only heard about it.
This is both horrible and yet monumentally inspiring.
